Speak on These Things Speech & Debate Qualifying Tournament

General Guidelines: Please read all information before registering.

This regional qualifying tournament is open to participation by Region 3 NCFCA affiliate families and their eligible students only.

A completed registration must include:

  1. Student Registration
  2. Judge Registration
  3. Affiliate Number
  4. Payment

Note that by registering you are affirming NCFCA eligibility, agreeing to abide by all NCFCA dress code requirements, and NCFCA Qualifying Tournament Participation General Rules. See ncfca.org for specifics.

Competitor Registration Deadline: December 12th, 2007.

All changes and drops will be assessed a $10.00 fee.

Judge Responsibilities:

Debate Judging Requirements: Team Policy Debater – Must register a judge or judges for a minimum of two (2) rounds.
Lincoln-Douglas Debater – Must register a judge or judges for a minimum of three (3) rounds.

IE (Speech) Judging Requirements: Each participant is required to register a judge or judges for one (1) round per event entered.

Judging Contest:

Cash prizes will be awarded to the 3 students who recruit the most community judges.
1st place $75, 2nd place $40, & 3rd place $30.

Time Keeper Volunteers:

Competitors are asked to provide a volunteer who will participate as a time keeper.

Host Housing:

Chaperones:

If parents are not in attendance, then students must provide a medical release form for their chaperone. All chaperones must be willing to judge and/or time.

Sorry, no un-chaperoned competitors are allowed.

Cancellation Policy:

All refund requests must be submitted by e-mail to Robbie Blum at blumrl@msn.com; Requests must be received by December 12th to be eligible for a full refund minus a $10 processing fee. No refunds will be given for requests submitted after the close of registration.
